I did two more juice cleanses, which is amazing since I am pretty sure I swore – to myself at least – that I would never do another cleanse after my Juice in the Raw cleanse. But oop’s I did it again and then again and now I can consider myself a full day juice cleanse expert (I say that tongue in cheek, because I am not an expert, but having now completed 3 cleanses, I can speak honestly to how you feel on and during a cleanse!)

Pressed Juicery Cleanse Benefits

If I was set on not doing another cleanse after my initial soup and juice cleanse, why did I?

It all comes down to feeling your best! Whether it is winter and you are fighting seasonal colds and get rid of toxins or your stomach just needs a day off from digesting fibrous food, a cleanse is a great way to reset. Yes, vegan diets are full of fiber and while that is great; sometimes you need a fiber break! For one of the cleanses, I had prior been trying to reintroduce buckwheat groats and chia seeds at the same time back into my diet and it was not going so well! My stomach was a mess from digesting these seeds and it needed a reset.

Here are some other reasons you might want to consider a one day juice cleanse:

  • Boost Nutrition
  • Reset Your Digestive System
  • Detox the Body
  • Remove Toxins

Pressed Juicery is a great choice because their juices are cold pressed meaning they extract the juice with no heat. You get 100% of the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and nutrients. I also loved that their full day juice cleanses include a nut milk, which provides additional substance to get through the day without feeling hungry.

Which Pressed Juicery Cleanse Should You Do?

Pressed Juicery has both half day cleanses and full day cleanses. Both are great at restoring balance while giving your digestive system a break. I am a fan of doing a one day juice cleanse, especially if you are beginner at a juice detox.

Full Day Juice Fast
Pressed Juicery has 3 full day juice cleanses to choose ranging from beginner to experienced. I have done both Cleanse 1 for Beginners and the popular Pressed Juicery, Cleanse 2. Here are the differences between cleanses.

  • Beginner (I have done this one!): Contains two nut milks to keep those hunger pains away! It also contains green juices and citrus juices.
  • Most Popular (I have done this one!): Contains 1 nut milk, green juices a roots juice and citrus juices.
  • The Experienced: Contains 1 nut milk and mostly green juices.

Half Day Fast Choices

Again, there are 3 choices to choose from. A Detox, Wellness and Vitamin C Booster. All 3 of the half day fasts come with a wellness shot to boost your immunity! While I have not done a half day cleanse, I love the idea of cleansing during the day followed by a nutritious light dinner. My husband wants to try this soon!

  • Detox Half Day Cleanse: Contains a celery, green, citrus, nut milk and wellness shot containing ginger, lemon and cayenne.
  • Wellness Half Day Cleanse: Contains a roots, nut milk, greens, citrus and wellness shot containing ginger, lemon and cayenne.
  • Vitamin C Booster Half Day Fast: Contains greens, orange turmeric, citrus, roots and an Elderberry shot. This would be perfect for flu and cold season!

Daily Bundles

If you are not ready for a full or half day cleanse, a daily bundle is a great option that Pressed Juicery offers those desiring to the live the #pressedlife – drink one a day for staying on track with your healthy eating goals!

For the Experienced ‘Juice’ Fan – Make Your Own Cleanse

While I always love having an expert set the rules for me (when it comes to juice cleansing) you might want to make your own juice cleanse or try a variety of wellness shots. Each of their juices and wellness shots can be be purchased separately! If you live near a Pressed Juicery location, you can also indulge in their Vegan Soft Serve.

Why I Choose the Popular Full Day Cleanse

Since I had already completed a juice and soup 3 day cleanse a year ago, I knew I wasn’t the most experienced at doing a cleanse, but I was not a newbie either at doing a juice fast. I loved that their full day juice bundles include a nut milk for sustenance.

How did the juice cleanse go? I am not going to BS I was a bit nervous going into the one day cleanse, since I had only completed one cleanse before in my life and I also love routine! I was nervous I would miss real food all day, but since my stomach had been feeling so ‘off’ and bloated, I plunged forward with doing the cleanse. I picked a busy day of my week when I knew I would be in meetings most of the day as well as shuttling my kids all over for their activities. This was super important for me to pick a busy day, as when I am home, I am more likely to want to grab a snack to eat.

Right after my workout in the AM, I drank the Greens 2 juice. This was really great tasting! It contained Kale, Apple and Lemon and wasn’t a nice blend of tart and sweet.

Mid Morning when I started to feel hungry, I drank the Citrus 1 juice. I think I was supposed to drink Citrus 2, but I grabbed the wrong juice when I rushed out the door in the morning. This juice contained cucumber, pineapple, coconut water, lemon and aloe vera. I was worried this juice would taste too much like pineapple, but the pineapple does not overpower the other flavors and I found this drink very pleasant!

Around noon, I started to feel really hungry and drank the greens 3 while out running errands around my town! This juice contained apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, spinach, ginger, kale and parsley. This juice had great taste and did not taste like you were drinking salad – which with all those greens in this juice, you might wonder about that!

Late afternoon, I started to drink Roots 3. This was my least favorite drink as it was very tart! I loved the bright pink color from the beets, but could only down half of it before my stomach started to feel odd from the tart ginger and lemon. This juice contains, My daughter also gave it a try and found it very tart! If you love tart tastes, this will be your favorite.

Not long after the tart Roots 3, I warmed up the vanilla almond nut milk to drink! This was my favorite drink. I warmed it up because it was a dark grey day outside and I was freezing from all the cold drinks. I think I drank this out of order, but I needed something to quickly take the tart taste away from the Roots 3.

An hour before bed, I drank the Citrus 2. This juice contained apple, pineapple, lemon and mint. I felt the pineapple really overpowered the juice but other than that it was decent enough.

If you love tart tastes, this juice is for you! Purchase Roots here.

Again, I started first with mindset as I thought about doing the juice cleanse! I prepped my mind days in advance that I was going to do a juice cleanse. I think this is vital to the success of the cleanse. I also let my family know, so they would be supportive!

After my light morning workout, I had the first juice of the day, which was actually a nut milk! I love the Vanilla Almond nut milk as it provides a bit more sustenance, tastes delicious and tastes very fresh.

Mid morning, I had the greens 2. I LOVE this juice. It features kale, apple and lemon and the juice is perfectly balanced and leaves you feeling refreshed!

Around noon, I drank the Roots 2. This juice contains Ginger, Carrot and Apple. I will admit, while I LOVED the color of this juice, the ginger was a bit overpowering for me. I tried to drink it as quickly as possible to mitigate the ginger taste, but I didn’t finish the whole juice.

Later afternoon I had the Greens 3 juice. As mentioned before, I LOVE the green juices from Pressed Juicery. They are so fresh and make you feel healthy and great! This juice has apple, spinach, ginger and kale. All the flavors balance beautifully.

Around dinnertime, I had the citrus 2. I have found this juice a bit tart from past experience. To tone down the pineapple and lemon in the juice, I actually blended it with some frozen watermelon. Since it was summertime and 90 degrees outside, it felt a bit like I was drinking a healthy ‘mocktail’! The juice was still tart, but the watermelon helped balance it.

Before bedtime, I drank the Chocolate Almond. This was very good! Not sweet at all, just fresh and filling. I really loved this nut milk.

Was I Hungry During the Full Day Juice Detox?

At the start of each full day cleanse, I was not that hungry. As the day wore on, I started to think more and more about food as my stomach started growling. When that happened, I would grab another juice to stave off hunger. I was not as hungry as I thought I would be though and my stomach did not hurt and I did not feel bloated at all!

On the full day cleanse in February 2020, I did have a few almonds after the Roots juice – again trying to get the tart taste out of mouth! I admit that I did chew gum during the day as well as drink coffee in the morning on both cleanses. If you are doing a true cleanse, I would probably avoid both of them.

I woke up the day after the cleanse and felt great! My stomach did not feel or look bloated and my skin looked great as well. The year before after the 3 day juice and soup cleanse, I had some stomach trouble the day after the cleanse ended when I reintroduced ‘real’ food. I did not have that this time – I attribute that to the cleanse only being one day!

The Vanilla Almond Nut Milk was my Favorite!

Would I Do the Juice Cleanse Again?

The answer is a resounding yes! When I do this juice cleanse again from Pressed Juicery I will do a one day cleanse, I felt that was just enough for me to feel better and reset my digestion system. I will also try the experienced cleanse, as I really loved the green juices (and nut milk) the best.

I would also be interested in trying the Elderberry shots next winter when we are at the height of influenza season. I was down this year with influenza and do not want to get that again!

Pressed Juicery has some great options as well if you are interested in fresh juices on a routine basis! When you join their VIP membership you can save up to 35% on each order. Those savings can really add up and they routinely have special deals for members only.

I love that these pressed juices are affordable as well! The juice cleanse bundle is $34.50 for non members and $30 for members. This is a lower price point than I have seen from other ‘juice’ brands. Pressed Juicery also ships nationwide, which is a great option if you do not live nearby one of their locations. My package arrived cold with an ice pack and insulation.

Let me know if you try Pressed Juicery tag @badtothebowl on social media with your order and let me know how you survived your juice cleanse.
